Northern Scottish NPE36 (GSO 86V)
Chassis Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R chassis no. 7903146 ♦ Body Alexander AYS B53F body no. 136AYS/1878/10
History
Four of this batch of vehicles passed to Strathtay Scottish on its formation in 1985 (much later, another of the batch that had stayed with Northern ended up in the fleet of Strathtay’s sister company Meffan). SL36, as it had become, was transferred to Perth and remained there until that depot closed in 1993, by this stage renumbered 536. It was one of a number of Leopards that were still in the fleet when Strathtay was bought by Stagecoach at the end of 2005, and the bus was bought directly from Strathtay by the Society when it came out of service during 2006.
Restoration
Some minor cleaning up was undertaken during 2011, although the position of the vehicle hemmed in behind two buildings outside our premises in Arbroath has precluded any more major work being done recently.
